Coin Supply
« on: May 27, 2018, 10:15:02 AM »
We're currently at:
  • TOTAL Coins: 21,000,000
  • Created: 5,620,343.43325626
  • Block 355,130
  • 5 BOBz per Block
  • 2min. Blocks

Spoke to x_slacks and tried to comprehend some 10x - 210,000,000 coinsupply jazz.
I'm sure it's cool, I just need to understand it better..

So, the issue is, we have already halved once.  This should not have happened until 10,500,000(10.5M) BOB were generated, as...

50BOB x 210,000 blocks(Bitcoin default halving interval) = 10.5M

Basically half the coin supply(21M) should have been generated before halving.

So we cut BOBʻs block target to 2 minutes, basically dividing the original target interval by five, which means that we should have multiplied the halving interval by 5 to every 1,050,000 blocks, but the halving interval was left untouched and we halved at block 210,000 and are speeding to another premature halving.

So think of it this way, starting from block with 2 minute blocks spitting out 10 coin...  if you halve at 1.05M, you will have spit out 10.5M, and then be spitting out 5, or the equivalent of 25 at 10 minute blocks....

But when you halve at 210K, what happens is...

10 * 210,000 = 2,100,000
5 * 210,000 = 1,050,000
2.5 * 210,000 = 525,000
1.25 * 210,000 = 262,500
0.625 * 210,000 = 131,250

For a grand total of 4,068,750 coins generated instead of 10.5M...  Not only that, youʻre now on track to get an extra slackful 0.3125 BOB per block, instead of 5... lol

All of this logic is can be found in main.cpp, in the function "GetBlockValue"(line 1277):

Code: [Select]
CAmount GetBlockValue(int nHeight, const CAmount& nFees)
{
    CAmount nSubsidy = 50 * COIN;
    //Testnet values removed, I will rebuild testnet.
    if(!Params().AllowMinDifficultyBlocks() && nHeight==68425)
    {
        nSubsidy=10*COIN;
    }
    if(!Params().AllowMinDifficultyBlocks() && nHeight>=69791)
    {
        nSubsidy=10*COIN;
    }
    // Subsidy is cut in half every 210000 blocks, which will occur approximately every 4 years
    nSubsidy >>= (nHeight / 210000);

    return nSubsidy + nFees;
}

Note, all of the ifʻs are added logic to compensate for the change to 2 minute blocks...  Does anyone catch that there is no logic to fix the subsidy halving interval?  Does anyone also catch that 2 minute switch at block 68425, 10 BOB were spit out, but from 68425 to 69791 we were bonker blocking 50BOB every 2 minutes....  Thatʻs only like 65K BOB, but still...

Lets not lose our slackfulness and get all wound up over what has happened.  Lets counter The Unslackening(the clenching of the slack orifice), by slacking even more...  And always remember...

"Once you do have Slack, you don't have to worry about sharing it because no matter how much you possess, ten times as much is radiated out. And this can mean INSTANT MONEY -- LUCK AT THE RACES -- AN AVALANCHE OF FRENZIED SEX -- ANYTHING YOU DESIRE!"

Did we actually halv - or did earlz simply change the output when he changed the block time. What if we just made up some new numbers and grok to that?

We could keep 2min Block time and pump out 25 a block

I knew that 2 minute switch at block 68425 was a death spiral.
I mean look at it on the Number PAD.
______
| 7 8 9 |            NOT AN X-BLOCK AT ALL.
| 4 5 6 |        It's totally counter clockwise even!!  68425 WTF Was we thinking?
| 1 2 3 |      Gonna take a change at 357,159  or 357,951  To set things right..

Now that HARD FORK at BLOCK 13579 for "Bobs Wormhole"
& BLOCK 31597 ...The DobbsShield FORK.. them's was on point!!
X-BLOCKS ALL THE WAY, but what's this 210,000,000 talk about?

Yes...  And yes...  Hence why we have the situation.  He didnʻt change the halving interval as well...

Yeeea, help me understand how my own bag will grow by 10x,

'cos that kinda sounds like a devaluation of my labors and hard spend Slack over the years.
If there were maybe some kinda massive X-Day post-apokalyptic coin spazm..

Ya know.. like Awarding  20,000,000 coins to BtcBob 'er something..
Then he could dole them out to the Church and use them for bounties and such.

I know low coin supply doomed us from the beginning @Bittrex. Silly MEME-Coin needs mad supply for the 'Average scamcoin enthusiast' to get interested.. but i worry now that: since we were (being the private currency of an interstellar sex-cult n'all) a 'FAIR Launch' - that inflating the coin supply in some kinda year FOUR pre-mine would be in poor taste.

Maybe we should keep with 21 Mil Total Supply, but BUMP the REWARD or someshit..
Like set it back to 50 BOB/block, but at 2min BLOCKS.. until it halves again.

what's this 210,000,000 talk about?

I suggest no re-premine...  Itʻs simple...  Weʻve halved...  Slack orifice exudes 5BOB@2min, which is the equivalent of 25BOB@10min...

X-Day, kick it to 100BOB@2min, add a Zero to the coin supply, making it 210,000,000...

This turns our 25% mined out coin into a 2.5% mined out coin.

Does this change the size of your bag?  Not one damn bit.

Add this to a CPU only pow change, and itʻs like a whole new coin.

Thatʻs how you slack, bro?  That sounds so counterproductuitive to the foundation elements of this whole shit...  I think you just want to slackturbate with all the BOB you can, and deem yourself the most slackful.  But really you need to sit down, say nothing, twiddle your thumbs, and take a lesson in slacking.

This is a theological question for church higher ups...  Is it possible for 25% of all Slack in existence to be majority held by maybe 100 people?

And Iʻll keep quoting...

The foibles and fuck ups were destiny, and the Tenfolding is prophecy.
Stop worrying and let the slack flow...

Infact: 98.54% of all Slack is held by 100 people.

*POOF* ..and now it makes sence.

On the theological tip, YES. This is exactly what happens to the Church 'Higher UPs'.
    Thanks fer the adjustment.
        Time to get right with "Bob"
